Tim's Story
Tim Neisler was a service writer at a very busy car wash and detail center in San Diego for over 10 years. Most of the time, he was the only service writer on the property. That left him about 45 seconds to lovingly upsell the company’s car wash and detail services and get to the next customer.
He needed to develop an efficient way to communicate services sold to his wash and dry teams. First, he tried dry erase markers. They were ok at first, but either the tip got clogged from dirt when he wrote on the windshield or he would lose the cap. That had to be frustrating! Then he tried posting a note on the inside of the windshield. That only lasted so long. The blowers from the dryer would blow them right out of the car when the dry team opened the door. Plus, it took too much time and effort to carry a pad of notes around. Lastly, he used a bar of soap. Definitely the low-budget way to go, but the soap wasn’t very vibrant. It was kind of hard to read. That was another dead end.
He has searched high and low to make a long lasting industrial crayon that would be clearly visible and have the ability to wash or wipe away with ease. After contacting many different companies, and sampling hundreds of blends, he finally found a winner! It is custom made with a proprietary blend of wax and water based paint that make up the Service Writer Crayon. Once you use it, you will not want to use anything else.
